Super Heroes

Post by Hunter Reckoning on Sun May 12, 2013 1:45 pm

Hey, I'm back. I have a question. Have any of you ever made up a super hero, or multiple super heroes, or a team? If so, is be really interested in hearing them. Please try to be a little bit serious.

I'm writing a script for a video-game involving heroes. Might be inclined to share if you're interested.

I had a phase during high school when I created a large team of them. Not sure if I still have the book with all the ideas concerning them anymore.

Made one up recently for a Drawmeet challenge where we had to create a superhero based on a letter of the Greek Alphabet.

That's probably the coolest sounding thing ever. Care to elaborate?

The Drawmeet challenge?

Basically, we were given a random letter of the Greek Alphabet and had to design a superhero themed around it within a set amount of time (I think we had about 30 mins). I got Delta so I made a shapeshifting environmental defender.

These were the results from the meet.

Should probably tell you guys why I asked about super heroes. I am going to be making a web comic soon about super heroes. I was planning on seeing your opinion on super heroes before asking your opinion on the ones I came up with.

Shift: Energy projection, flight, multidimensional travelling

Nemesis: Energy absorption, energy projection, carieskinesis

Totem: Environmental manipulation through contact

Goliath: Size growth, water breathing, acid spitting

Necro: Shadow manipulation, interdimensional travelling

Neon: Technopathy, electropathy, shape imitating

Midas: Radiation manipulation

Nyx: Telekinesis, telepathy

Inertia: Kinetikinesis

Electron: Electrokinesis

Abaddon: Matter manipulation, telepathy

Photon: Photokinesis, flight, energy projection

Telian: Shapeshifting

The story would be a group of super heroes who use a giant meteor of an unknown metal as a vessel for travelling between dimensions, and handling threats to the multiverse.

Constructive criticism would be great

I think they'll look pretty cool. If I get around to it I'll put concept art for all of them, and depending on the person, they can be really powerful.

Also, I forgot to say that Abaddon and Electron are the main baddies. A lot of those characters are being introduced later in the story.

*PS, if you want I could go into their powers more, and their anatomy more.

Sounds pretty good, but just remember to keep in mind that the villains have to be just as good if not better to fight whatever you put them up against. Is it like an entire world of these various heroes at various locations, or is it more like an X-men situation where they're cooperating? I get that they're all using the meteor, but I'm not sure if that makes them a team effort. My point is, understand the difference between Magneto and a bunch of mutants fighting the X-men vs the Joker and a bunch of minions. There's gotta be a power scale and a presumed hopelessness for the hero at some point.

Re: Super Heroes

Post by Hunter Reckoning on Wed Aug 07, 2013 4:12 am

Alright, here's what's up. Each of the heroes are from different dimensions and places in time. Shift, who controls the meteor (it's called the Olympia, and it has a mount on it so it's used as a spaceship/interdimensional vessel), is going between dimensions to gather these heroes so he can stop Abaddon. Abaddon uses his telepathy and matter manipulation to create giant monsters that he calls "titans", that he directly controls. He sends them through to different dimensions, in an effort to execute an unknown plan. Shift's team is definitely working together to stop Abaddon.

Now as for the extent of their powers. Abaddon is immensely more powerful than any one member of Shift's team. So if I were to make a list of where everyone on that list rank, it would be:

Abaddon
Shift
Electron
Totem
Necro
Nyx
Midas
Nemesis
Telian
Goliath
Inertia
Photon
Neon

The first characters to be on Shift's team are Goliath, Nemesis, Totem, Neon, and Necro. The other characters are introduced much later in the story.

Ah, I did not know that. I don't play Dota 2, especially since hackers made it an issue on my steam.
