I don't like the professor or rival design very much.

Others are pretty cool

Can these guys quit with all the damn foreplay already and just make a Poke'mon MMO? Seriously, I want all the regions in one package.

Why would they though? We're all going to buy the new games no matter how limited they are. Anything that incorperates real multiplayer or include all of the regions would have too much replay value and make people more hesitant on buying more games.

Besides, Nintendo is against DLC and recurring fees which doesn't really groove with multiplayer.

Never stopped them from making a business plan based on Micro-Transactions. They could easily go the way of Valve on this.

Yeah it does. Pokemon is Pokemon. Why bother with crappy spin offs?

Mystery Dungeon was cool 'cause you WERE a Pokemon. TGC was just an awesome game. Ranger sucked, link sucked.

I'm with Tom here, but I'll probably end up buying that new game anyways.

Never stopped them from making a business plan based on Micro-Transactions. They could easily go the way of Valve on this.

Expansions? It would basically be the same thing as the regular games, you just buy the new thing and then have an option of going to the new worlds and catching new pokemon, with the badge effect in play. Really, I imagine that it would work similarly to how Guild Wars functioned, you either expanded your new game, or could play the new thing standalone.

Nah, Nintendo just doesn't really make games for anything but it's own consoles, so the multiplayer would have to be on a 3DS/DS, or the Wii/WiiU, none of these really work towards that purpose very well.
Plus... y'know, their whole casual gaming stance? MMO's are anything but casual.

Plus the lack of portability, at most we will likely get a Wii Pokemon Stadium style game with random matchups, you would think they would have that on the DS, but... well... it's Pokemon, they are terrible at both implementing and maintaining new features. World pokemon sprite following you? One game. Two continents? Two games (Fire Red series doesn't really count). Battle Frontier? A few games, then removed. Gym Leader replays? On and off. Not sure if this is due to poor management, or deliberate marketing to get us to buy re-makes or extra games in a gen just for these things. Figure there's a reason though.

Regardless, yeah: an MMO seems unlikely.

Honestly, I'd just be happy if they implemented a better file transfer system from one game/gen to the next, just let you send a bulk of pokemon into another game and then capture them in an entralink/Pokepark like zone.

First off, even the Wii had more hardcore games like even Super Smash Brothers Brawl which is played extensively on pro gaming circuits.

Fine, AQW is dress-up with swords.

Transferring all of your pokemon between games (besides eventually destroying memory) is a bad idea. It ruins the whole fun of the game and the adventure of catching all the new pokemon and using the team you bonded with on your journey to become the pokemon master.

If the Wii-U already has hardware on-par with PS3s, it should be able to support an MMO much like the PS3 supports DCUO.

We've had transfer from game to game, only difference is that it's usually one at a time or something.
And if you remember, we have badge systems preventing us from using OP pokemon, and the transfer function always comes after we beat the elite four.
It's just a data transfer size expansion to make bringing in our old pokemon simpler, so we don't have to do it one at a time and then restart the system, or catch a billion zubats.

And the hardware can be the best in the world, you won't be seeing online games since Nintendo clearly hasn't shown much interest in implementing stuff like that.

I own that game, everything is either laughably easy or stupidly difficult. And the difficult isn't even real difficulty, it's just bad design that makes it hard.
